Ubuntu Installation
Why Ubuntu :-
Ubuntu is a open source and free OS That we can use it 3600 . it means that we can do a lot of things in Ubuntu rather then windows OS. But it has a very weak loop hole is that this is quite difficult for a new user or windows user. Because windows and other GUI based OS fully function on GUI mode they also have the UNIX and Debian based OS qualities but not like the original Unix and Debian based OS have. As a IT Engineer or tech person you have to familiar with the Unix and Debian based OS.
So we will learn how to install and use the Ubuntu Here.
Short summery of Ubuntu :-
Ubuntu is a Linux distribution based on Debian composed mostly on free and open source software. Ubuntu is Developed by Canonical and a community of other developers, under a meritocratic governance model . In 2004 20 October Ubuntu 4.10 was the First release. Ubuntu officially released in three versions 1. Desktop, 2. Servers, 3. Core(for internet of things and robots) the latest Ubuntu versions is 21.04(Hirsute Hippo) it upgrades in every six months, with long-term support (LTS) releases every two years. 22 April 2021, the most recent long-term support release is 20.04(Focal Fossa) which is supported until 2025 under public support and until 2030 as a paid option. Ubuntu is defaultly comes with the Gnome desktop environment since the release of 17.10 .
System requirements for Installation:-
2 GHz processor
4 GB Internal memory or RAM
30 GB external memory or any type of storage device (hard drive, SSD …. etc.)
NOTE :-
This requirements is a minimal requirements to install the Ubuntu OS on your need you have to upgrade your hardware to take fast and effective results
Requirements for installing Ubuntu:-
Computer or laptop (with minimal required hardware. )
An ISO file of Ubuntu OS(you can download it from the official website of Ubuntu)
A pen drive(4 GB is sufficient)
A software which will make you pen drive bootable(we will use here “Rufus”)
NOTE :- we are assuming we have windows in our system
Installation:-
insert your pen drive in you PC.
Now install the Rufus software by right clicking and run as administrator. (give the neccesory permissions during the process)
now open Rufus
select the ISO file of Ubuntu
select your pendrive and click to start
during the process try to leave your PC till the end and just Waite
after the end shut down the Computer change the booting device to your bootable pendrive select it and save the changes.
Now boot again your PC. Now you will able to see the booting process start but it not seems like before. It is different. It means you are doing all right.
I t will show a desktop screen with the installer icon.
Click on install Ubuntu icon
it will ask you to choose some basic detail for your system like language and keyboard layout
it will ask you for installation type (normal installation and minimal installation and download extra softweres from the internet )
if you connected to the internet you can download other software on your need
after that you will able to see the next pop up which is how you want to install your Ubuntu as a dual boot or erase the earlier OS. I am erasing my windows and installing the Ubunutu.
Now click on continue
click on Restart Now
now you all set
